You know those moments and objects that we’ve always dreamed about? Riding in a Volkswagen Kombi van was always a dream I had 😊 It was 2:30 pm when the blue Let’s Kombi van picked us up at Freixo Harbour and then the adventure began.

Sitting comfortably at the back of the van, Hugo from Let’s Kombi took us to visit some places in Porto from another perspective and even managed to show us to two viewpoints that we didn’t know about.

It was a sunny day, so we opted to travel with the top of the van open. Every now and then we got up to take some photos and feel the wind on our faces and hair.

Those who passed by us were intrigued and many even waved 😉 I felt almost part of a movie where we were the main characters. The truth is that the van stands out in the middle of so many cars in the city. It’s a classic vehicle and maybe that’s why it is so dreamy!

From Freixo Harbour, we followed the waterfront by the Douro River until the Tunnel of Ribeira. From there, we drove through Mouzinho da Silveira street towards downtown and, more specifically, to the tunnel of Ceuta Street.

We went towards Boavista roundabout and from there we went down Boavista Avenue until Fort of São Francisco do Queijo. We also took a short detour to Matosinhos and then returned through Brazil Avenue towards Foz.

With the Arrábida bridge as the scenery in front of us, we climbed through very narrow streets to the Santa Catarina viewpoint. And this was definitely the first surprise of the day! An incredible viewpoint over Douro, not known by many. We took the opportunity to get out of the van and took some photos.

We got back to the van and this ride was still far from ending. From Foz, we headed again to downtown Porto, this time to even narrower streets. We greeted locals having lunch at a small terrace and we arrived at the second stop of the afternoon: the Vitória viewpoint.

After almost three hours, it was then time to return to Freixo Harbour. But, before returning, we still went to Serra do Pilar to observe one of the best views of Porto 🥰

The tour with Let’s Kombi was amazing and I confess I never thought it would be so fun. Besides being able to visit my city with new eyes, I got to know lots of stories about the places we passed through. So, my recommendation is that, at least once in your life, try this tour in the Volkswagen Kombi! If you’re visiting Porto, you should definitely consider adding this activity to your itinerary 😊
